Mauna Eichner and Lee Fukui are a graphic design team (and couple) based in Long Beach, California. They met in college and began freelancing at various agencies and design studios in Los Angeles on diverse projects that included entertainment, advertising and package design. After a few years they began working with a local publisher and discovered that book publishing was a great fit with their love of books, design, and typography. Through the years they have worked on hundreds of book projects that include jackets, covers, and book interiors for both large and small publishers. They are experienced in problem solving, whether it’s conveying the proper message of a cover design or developing a cohesive relationship between the many elements of an interior design. In recent years they have added book interior project management to their skill-set, which includes working with authors, copy-editors, proofreaders, 
and indexers. In addition to books, Mauna and Lee work on other design projects such as packaging of documentary films, music CDs, brand identities, and their own line of letterpress greeting cards. Whatever the scope of the project, they strive to work collaboratively with 
their clients to provide unique designs, managed smoothly from concept to completion.
